The Port of Belledune is exploring ways to become a hub for renewable energy, with potential projects related to wind, solar and battery, hydrogen and biomass energy. These projects can bring jobs and opportunity to our communities.
The Port’s Community Workforce Development Committee includes members from the Restigouche, Chaleur and Acadian Peninsular regions, along with Pabineau First Nation and Ugpi’ganjig First Nation.
The committee’s mandate is to advise the Port as it expands to include renewable projects and low-carbon industries, while seeking opportunities for community education and engagement.
